I
am so pleased I
discovered blues and hard rock music, even heavy metal. I was 14 and I
really loved it . The music of Let me give you just one more heavy metal idol of mine. Double check how high does he sings :o) Michale Kiske from Germany, ex singer of Helloween. Please think about how high a pitch he reaches on the top without going to falsetto.
.... and,
one lady
from metal world
Simone Simons.
Or would you like to know a
Beautiful Sin? There are others who sings very well by my opinion. I really don't discriminate any voice just because it sounds over a music I do not really like. I am not a fun of rap for example, but I do not mind about the voice of Eminem us it is quite well made technique.
This are my lowers from Finland. Tarja Turunen doesn't sings with them any more unfortunately. I love the cover version of Phantom of the opera. I think it is as better as the original indeed. The bass man has magnificent timbre I think. Here is one more song by Nightwish, just in case, you would fancy :o)
I think that Nothing else matters An another great voice is the ex front man of legendary Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio Another legend I really must mention here is Ian Gillan and his legendary falsetto, the voice of Deep Purple and the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar Would be really a sin not mention great Led Zeppelin here! I love the voice of the naughty bohemian Freddie |
SINGING LESSONS BRISTOL |

My name is Pavel Josifek. I came from Czech Republic and settled in Bristol in summer 2004. Mainly I perform classical and romantic opera music now. Below you can see that I haven't actually done only 'boring' opera music in the past. Apart of others I look after a few bands around Bristol as a voice coach:
please see the Testimonials and much more
When I was 21 I bought my first classical CD - It was Mozart's Eine kleine nachtmusik. I still keep this CD several years later. I am so glad I have had the opportunity to discover the music of great composers like Dvorak, Smetana, Janacek, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovski, Bizet, Verdi, Puccini and many others. When I was 24 I fell in love with opera. My enjoyment of the beautiful and powerful melodies of Puccini's music keeps me awake at night. I feel really sorry for those who have not discovered this beauty yet. I really hate the well known 'operatic style' when one sings like having a dumpling in the throat. I know how to do this. You just simply lift the soft pallet in your mouth as you yawn - just in case you would like to try it :o). I do not sing with a dumpling, and I care of all my pupil to not do that at all. But I love a good opera so much and well trained voices, the natural sounding. They are on the top of my scale but not us much higher as those, I have listed above. The best one in my eyes is a man of my age from Peru Juan Diego Florez.
I am so sorry my ladies, he is taken too :o) I love all good music, I don't discriminate because something's rock or classical, opera or jazz, musical or rap. I can see the differences and what the absolute similarities between all genres, even romantic opera and good heavy metal. Can you?
What I have done: 'Progress rock' project with this man 'Hard rock' project with the lead musician Two concerts with Eva Gina An opera tour around Europe with these people, a nice walk around Valencia and a couple of beers with this nice lady and great singer Previously a member of this opera chorus. A member of this concert chorus with whom I have toured numerous times over several years all around Europe. Composed over 50 songs for my own hard rock band and over 200 song lyrics mostly for rock music

PROJECT THE VOICE AND GET CONFIDENCE WITH THE RIGHT VOCAL TECHNIQUE
I am the only singing teacher, who specializes in vocal training using the Speech Level Singing Technique in Bristol. It is based on the nature of healthy speech, natural voice projection and freedom of the whole body. Learning how to sing properly allows singers of all styles of music to perform well, without fatigue or damage to the voice.
I cannot necessarily make you sing like Sting, Rihanna, Pavarotti, Houston, Dickinson, Gillan or whoever, but I can show you techniques which will improve your performance and perhaps give you the confidence to feel you do sing better than some of those.
There are no differences in the basics of voice techniques from one genre to another. Because some singers lack the knowledge of the basics at the start they develop bad habits. Every single singer has some bad habits in their technique but often we love their voice just because of those habits . So much so we can not imagine some artists singing without them.
The technique makes singing as natural and easy as speaking. We habitually 'set up' our throat for a 'singing position' or 'singing voice', what is a big mistake. The voice is a complex and precise mechanism which has a built-in ability to operate in a natural and effective way. The trouble most people have is a layer of habits, built up over years, which inhibit the easy functioning of the voice. Any position or shape of your larynx which is different from your natural speech position, logically changes the quality of the timbre into something undesirable. But they should know that the most beautiful voice is a natural one.
I take a quite different approach. The tools I use are very specific and affect the function of the muscles of the vocal tract at the basic neuro-muscular level. We will be working on your voice, regardless of your experience, gender, age or genre of music. Sure, as a good singing teacher, I will address some performance issues, but will be mainly concerned to improve your vocal function.
Good singing is NOT a style, genre or a sound, a limitation or a loss of individuality. Good singing is a large vocal range, compassing around 3 octaves (excl. falsetto) of clear sound with no gaps, breaks or changes of quality. It also is the ability to sing from very quiet to very loud at any point in the range, with vibrato as desired. Good singing is healthy and easily produced allowing the singer to undertake extended rehearsal and performance without strain.
HELP WITH AN EXPRESSION
While a right singing technique works for all styles or genres, they may require a different approach on the expression each of them. I do have experience with couple genres, as hard rock, folk, medieval and classical, which I can help you with. We really should not copy anybody but there still is a lot what we can do on a particular song together.
HELP WITH OUT OF PITCH SINGING
You may have been told that you are tone deaf, that you can never sing because you are out of tone when you try. Give me a chance to prove them wrong. If you are healthy and have a little bit of will, there is no reason why you should not be singing.
There are those, who are afraid to sing, who think that they should stop singing because others tell them that they have no voice or their singing is out of tune. Some people ignore this humiliation because singing is in their blood or they simply love to express themselves by singing. I can imagine how these people feel as most of us sometimes do not hit the right note.
I will not make you read music nor teach you theory if you are not interested in these. Instead we will concentrate on training your musical hearing, so that you are able to pick up a harmony and loose your fear of singing.
Being an active singer myself, I am aware of most people’s desire to sing. I know the urge to sing a beautiful melody, to be carried away by an enchanting harmony and to succumb to a striking rhythm. Nobody or nothing should stop us when we feel like singing. There is little sense in resisting what should not be resisted and there is no sense in staying at home when everybody else is out there singing. Singing is like medicine and brings with it a beautiful experience.
HELP WITH SINGING OR SPEAKING DIFFICULTY
I also help people who have been told they cannot sing. This could be because of hoarseness, a crackly or unpleasant voice or even pain when singing. Believe me this is very easy to help you with.
The right technique for singing or speech is very close to voice therapy. I work therapeutically to solve voice problems. I help people who are suffering hoarseness, pain, tiredness or loss of voice as symptoms of so called voice disorders. A voice is termed "disordered" when the quality is altered in such a way that it is thought to be abnormal to the listener. The vast majority of voice disorders are caused by bad conducting from your brain. If we catch it in time, it is not difficult to bring you back to normal. However people underestimate this, they ignore the symptoms until they turn into serious problems, such as pain and loss of the voice. You don't have to reach this stage at all. Together we can avoid your problems before they interfere with your life and work.
